Alfonso Ielasi, MD FESC is a senior interventional cardiologist at the Cardiology Division of the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi Sant'Ambrogio, part of the GSD network in Milan, Italy. He has authored over 250 manuscripts published in peer-reviewed journals.
His clinical and research expertise focuses on interventional cardiovascular therapies, particularly in the management of structural heart disease (aortic, mitral and tricuspid) and complex coronary interventions. He has a special interest in the evaluation and optimization of interventional devices, including new-generation trans-catheter heart valves (THVs), drug-eluting stents (DES), and drug-coated balloons (DCB).
Dr Ielasi currently serves as Principal Investigator of the ongoing multicenter HYPER II study (hybrid DES and DCB strategy for the treatment of long diffuse coronary artery disease) and MyVal Global Study (aim to assess the real world performance of Myval aortic THV).
